Plane lands in open field in Louisa
The pilot of a small plane made an emergency landing in Louisa County on Saturday morning. About 15 minutes after taking off from the Louisa County/Freeman Field Airport, a single-engine Stinson Voyager piloted by Peter Stetson, 66, of Fairfield, Ind., began sputtering and having problems, according to a Virginia State Police release. Stetson tried to return to the airport, the release said, but landed instead in an open field near Roundabout Road. Stetson, who was attempting to fly to Indiana, was not injured, authorities said. He was alone, and no one on the ground was injured.
