Armed robbery probed in Fredericksburg
By KEITH EPPS
Fredericksburg Police are looking for two men who robbed a city business just east of Interstate 95 on State Route 3 Friday afternoon.
Police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said the robbery occurred at 2:50 p.m. at the Shell station at 2301 Plank Road.
Two men, one armed with a handgun, entered the store and confronted the clerk. They then took the cash drawer from the register and left. They were last seen headed toward a rear parking lot behind the business.
No customers were in the store at the time, but there were customers at the gas pumps. An undisclosed amount of money was taken, and no one was injured.
The robbers were described as black males in their early to mid 20s. One was wearing all black with a gray ball cap and the other was wearing black pants and a red hoodie.
Police dogs from the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office were brought to the scene, but attempts to track the suspects with the dogs had been called off by 4:15 p.m.
Anyone with information is asked to call city police at 373-3122.
