Two surrender in shooting case
UPDATE: (7/29/13, 5:45 p.m.) Kwumane Goodall is in custody, according to a press release from the Caroline County Sheriff’s Department.
Two brothers are in custody and police are searching for a third man charged in a Caroline County shooting Wednesday night that left an innocent bystander wounded.
Brothers Jujuan Morris, 21, and Jessee Rashaud Morris, 22, both of Ruther Glen, turned themselves in to the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office Friday.
Caroline Sheriff Tony Lippa said 20-year-old Kwumane Goodall of Doswell is still wanted by investigators and is “to be considered armed and dangerous.”
Lippa said deputies went to the shooting on Jocasta Avenue in the Elsinore subdivision in the southern part of the county.
Deputies learned that multiple shots were fired between three people at a large house party, Lippa said.
A 20-year-old woman was shot in the chest as she was trying to run from the area, Lippa said.
He said she was not believed to be the intended target. Police think the shootout was between the Morris brothers and Goodall.
The woman is expected to recover, police said.
Lippa said investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Goodall.
All three are charged with malicious wounding, attempted malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. An arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 2.
Virginia State Police forensics technicians and troopers assisted the Caroline Sheriff’s Office in the investigation.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of these men is asked to call the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office at 804/633-5400 or anonymously at 804/633-1133 to leave a message on the tip line.
