Two face murder charges in Spotsy
A couple is facing murder charges in Spotsylvania after a man was stabbed multiple times Sunday night.
According to Capt. Jeff Pearce of the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received a call at 10:25 p.m. about a stabbing in the 100 block of Wakeview Street.
Upon arrival, deputies found 26-year-old Robert Jones Jr.’s body with multiple stab wounds, Pearce said. He was pronounced dead at Mary Washington Hospital.
David Edward Sealock, 23, and his girlfriend, 28-year-old Michelle Leigh Soderberg, were quickly identified as persons of interest after detectives spoke with witnesses, police said.
Sealock, who had lived at the residence up until a few weeks ago, is the victim’s stepson, Pearce said.
Pearce said Jones kicked Sealock out of the house last week. He said Sealock and Soderberg went to the house Sunday night and confronted Jones before the stabbing occurred.
After a nearly six-hour search, the couple was located at a Motel 6 in Stafford County. They were arrested without incident, he said.
Both are charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder. They were transported to the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
