King George teen killed in accident
A King George County teenager was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday night, police said.
Virginia State Police Sgt. Thomas Molnar said troopers responded to State Route 218, or Windsor Drive, just east of Little Ferry Road in King George for a crash at 8:41 p.m.
Molnar said the driver of a 1999 Honda Accord, who was traveling east on Windsor Drive, ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.
The driver, 19-year-old Emily E. Ginter, died at the scene. She was wearing her seatbelt, Molnar said.
He said speed and alcohol are not considered factors in the crash. All lanes of Windsor Drive were closed for approximately 90 minutes, he said.
The King George County Sheriff’s office assisted with the ongoing investigation.
