Stafford fire displaces three families
A fire that started in a Stafford County townhouse Thursday afternoon damaged three houses and displaced three families, according to assistant fire chief Mark Doyle.
The Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department responded around 2:30 p.m. to a reported fire at 30 Maple Drive in the Stafford Oaks Townhomes neighborhood.
The first unit on the scene found a two-story townhouse on fire, with the fire extending to the adjacent homes.
Firefighters called for assistance and were aided by 13 difference agencies.
At 3:21 p.m., the fire was under control.
The home that the fire originated in was occupied by one adult who escaped through a second-floor window prior to the arrival of fire and rescue units. He was treated and transported to an area hospital.
There were no other injuries.
The cause of the fire and damage assessment are currently under investigation.
