Two killed in King George County crash
Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash in King George County Monday.
Virginia State Police responded to a crash on State Route 218 shortly after 3 p.m. on Monday, said State Police Sgt. Thomas Molnar.
Molnar said the crash occurred after the driver of a 1996 Chevrolet failed to yield the right-of-way to the driver of a 2008 International box truck. At the time of the crash, the Chevrolet was traveling southbound on State Route 218 and attempting to travel eastbound on State Route 205, police said.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 19-year-old Jodi A. Graham of Spotsylvania County, suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mary Washington Hospital, where she later died, Molnar said.
A passenger in the Chevrolet, 76-year-old Paul E. lee of Colonial Beach, died at the scene of the crash.
It is unclear what the relationship is between the two or if they were wearing seat belts, Molnar said.
The 38-year-old driver of the box truck, A King George resident, was wearing his seat belt and was not injured in the crash, Molnar said.
