Stafford deputies break up party

A number of teenagers were cited for marijuana possession and underage possession of alcohol after deputies broke up a party early Sunday in Hunter’s Pond subdivision in North Stafford, police said.
Stafford County Sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy said deputies went to a home on Partridge Lane after receiving reports of loud noises and underage drinking. Kennedy said there were between 20 and 25 cars near the home and multiple teens were fleeing as deputies showed up.
Deputies went to the cars and found numerous teens between 17 and 19 in possession of marijuana. They were released on summonses or turned over to their parents, though Kennedy said one 17-year-old ran out of the house and refused to stop when confronted by Deputy Brandon Gates.
Gates caught the boy after a brief foot chase and brought him back to the scene, where he was later turned over to a parent.
Juvenile petitions are pending charging the boy with eluding police, possession of marijuana and underage possession of alcohol.
Police said the homeowners were not home as the party was going on.
