North Stafford jewelry store robbed

An employee at a North Stafford jewelry store was tied up and robbed Wednesday by an unknown man, police said.
The robber walked into Diamond Concepts at 296 Garrisonville Road about 10 a.m., Sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy said.
He indicated to the employee that he had a gun, then forced her into a back bathroom.
There, he tied her up with zip ties and went back to the main part of the store, where he stashed an undetermined amount of jewelry into his two-toned backpack.
He had left the store by the time the woman was able to free herself and call 911. She told police that she last saw the man running around the corner of a nearby office building.
The robber was described as a light-skinned, short black or Hispanic male. He was wearing a black hoodie, a two-toned blue or black jacket, black pants and a beanie. His faced was covered by a piece of material.
Kennedy said that while Deputy Kevin Lytle was talking to the victim, another witnesses told the deputy that he’d just seen two males running quickly toward the nearby Home Depot while carrying items.
One was wearing jeans and a white T–shirt, and the other was wearing a camouflage jacket. Kennedy said it is not clear if one of those men was the robber.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 540/658-4450 and ask for Detective Barry Surles.
