Culpeper driver dies in auto crash
A 32-year-old Culpeper man died Friday night after a crash on Sperryville Pike in Culpeper, according to the Virginia State Police.
James Henry Mack Jr. was driving a Mitsubishi Diamante northbound around 9:30 p.m. when police say he crossed the center line and hit a southbound car on Route 522.
After hitting the other vehicle, the Diamante ran off the right side of the road, hitting a fence and a stand of trees before ending up in the front yard of a home. The crash happened near Route 633.
Sgt. Les Tyler with the state police said the cause of the crash that killed Mack is unknown at this point. He also said that Mack was not wearing a seat belt. The driver in the other vehicle was not injured.
