Child rescued from a gun safe

Stafford County Fire and Rescue workers freed a 7-year-old child who was accidentally locked in an empty gun safe in a northern Stafford home.
The call for help came in at 8:18 p.m. said Mark Doyle, spokesman for Stafford Fire and Rescue, and the first rescue workers reached the home within five minutes.
The child was rescued from the gun safe shortly after, Doyle said.
In a press release, he stated, “The child was not injured but as a precaution was transported to an area medical facility to be evaluated.”
