King George investigating double shooting

The King George County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double shooting that happened just before midnight Saturday, a short distance from the Dahlgren naval base, sheriff’s Sgt. Jon Davis said.

An argument started inside the China Garden restaurant, located at 17010 Dahlgren Road, and continued outside where two people were shot, Davis said.

Two males  were taken to area hospitals where they are being treated for non-life threatening injuries, Davis said. He did not provide the ages of the victims. He said one victim was taken by ambulance and the other was flown by helicopter for treatment.

Deputies and detectives have been investigating through the night but Davis said he did not have a description to release on the shooter or shooters. He said the victims were injured by a handgun or handguns but did not release the caliber.

The victims are two men from the Fredericksburg region, Davis said.
