Heavy snow expected to move into Fredericksburg

A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect for the immediate Fredericksburg region, beginning at 6 tonight and continuing through midnight tomorrow.
A Winter Storm Warning, indicating a greater likelihood of heavy snow, is in effect for areas just to the west, including Orange and Culpeper.
A developing coastal storm is expected to bring rain to the region this evening.
Overnight, the precipitation is expected to mix with and then change to snow. That snow may be heavy at times.
The outlook for tomorrow calls for snow, mixing with rain at times. Again, some heavier bursts of snow may break out over the area.
The National Weather Service predicts the immediate Fredericksburg area may see 5 to 8 inches of total accumulation before the storm rolls out Wednesday night.
Higher amounts are expected to the north and west of Fredericksburg.
