A pizza delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint after completing a delivery in Fredericksburg Saturday evening, police said.

The incident occurred about 8:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Princess Anne Street, city police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said. The victim, a 33-year-old Fredericksburg man, was returning to his vehicle when he was confronted by an armed man.

The robber demanded the victim’s cash and wallet, then fled with an undisclosed amount.

The victim, who was not injured, immediately called 911. A police dog from the Stafford Sheriff’s Office participated in the ensuing search, but the robber was not found.

The robber was described as a black man in his early 20′s, 6 feet tall and 210 pounds. He had a “scruffy” face and was wearing a zip-up black hoodie, dark jeans and white athletic shoes. Anyone with information is asked to call city police at 373-3122.

Bledsoe said there was no indication that the people who ordered the pizza had anything to do with the robbery.
