Kitchen fire closes McDonald’s

A kitchen fire has temporarily closed the McDonald’s at 4301 Plank Road in Spotsylvania.

The fire started at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Spotsylvania Fire Department.

The exact cause of the fire is still being investigated, but it was a cooking fire and started in the kitchen, said Deputy Chief Scott Hechler.

No injuries were reported but there was damage to the restaurant from the smoke, he said.

The restaurant will remain closed until it is cleared by Health Department to reopen.
