Stafford schools change next week’s exam schedule, teacher work day
Stafford County students will attend a full school day on Monday, Jan. 28, instead of having the day off for the originally scheduled teacher work day.
The teacher work day has been moved to Wednesday, Jan. 30, according to a release from Stafford County schools. There will be no school for students on Wednesday due to the teacher work day.
“We had hoped to allow trainings that were scheduled for the work day on Monday to continue but the needs of the teaching staff to have the work day following the exams was paramount leading to the change in the work day from Monday to Wednesday,” said the release.
This week’s inclement weather prevented middle and high school students from taking their exams that were originally scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
Those students will have their exams originally scheduled for Jan. 24 on Monday and those scheduled for Jan. 25 on Tuesday.
The second semester will begin on Thursday, Jan. 31, and report cards will now be issued on Feb. 5.
The school system asked that parents refer to individual school sites for details regarding schedules for these days.
