Fauquier sheriff looks for two men who tried to abduct teenager on way to school
The Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office is looking for two men who may have tried to abduct a teenage girl on her way to school Wednesday morning.
The 13-year-old was walking on Blake Lane in the Meadow Brooke subdivision to a school bus stop, according to a release from the sheriff’s office. She passed a white van that was parked on the curb, and noticed two men in it.
The girl told police that she then heard someone behind her, and she was grabbed. She was able to get free, and then ran to the bus stop and to her home.
The school system sent a letter home with parents Wednesday with the information from the sheriff’s office. It stated that the division is cooperating with the investigation on what may be a possible abduction. The word “possible” was emphasized throughout the letter.
All police know about the vehicle was that it was a white van with a side passenger door. The school letter said it may have had Maryland or Virginia tags and described the two men as Hispanic.
One suspect is described as 5’7”, slender, possibly Hispanic and in his 30s. Police released a composite sketch. Click here to see the picture.
