Men beaten after altercation at restaurant
BY KEITH EPPS
A dispute that started minutes earlier at a local nightspot spilled over to a nearby Fredericksburg convenience store early Tuesday, police said.
Three young Spotsylvania men, between the ages of 18 and 21, were jumped and beaten as they were leaving the Wawa at 2390 Plank Road, city police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said.
The victims told police that they were attacked by eight people, five males and three females. They said they’d had some kind of altercation with the same group about 10 minutes earlier at the nearby Aladin Restaurant and Café. Police responded to the incident there, but everyone involved was gone by the time officers arrived.
Bledsoe said police don’t know what the altercation was about.
The victims said they were knocked to the ground and punched and kicked until their attackers finally stopped and left in various vehicles. All three victims had minor injuries, but all denied needing medical attention. One of them had his cell phone and Raiders ball cap taken during the attack.
The victims gave police descriptions of three of the attackers. Two were white males in their early 20s; one had a shaved head and was wearing a white T–shirt and jeans, while the other was over six feet tall with black curly hair and a goatee.
The third was a white woman in her early 20s with long, curly brown hair. She was wearing a “Rastafarian” style hat, Bledsoe said.
Anyone with information is asked to call city police at 540/373-3122.
