Man arrested in Spotsy abduction
A man charged with abducting his ex-girlfriend was located and arrested Sunday, police said.
Around 4 a.m. Saturday, deputies received a call about a potential abduction in the Lee’s Hill area.
According to Capt. Jeff Pearce of the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office, a man reportedly abducted his ex-girlfriend from her home in front of several witnesses and forcibly placed her in an unknown vehicle before driving off.
The 21-year-old woman was later released unharmed and confirmed that her ex-boyfriend had kidnapped her.
Pearce said the victim already had a protective order out against the man.
George Franklin Jackson, 23, of Spotsylvania, is charged with abduction and assault and battery on a family member.
Pearce said a patrol deputy spotted Jackson driving his car in Spotsylvania Sunday and pulled him over based on the outstanding warrants.
He is being held in Rappahannock Regional Jail.
