Spotsy man wanted for abduction of ex-girlfriend is arrested

Update:George Franklin Jackson Jr. was arrested Sunday by Spotsylvania deputies in the county, according to Capt. Jeff Pearce of the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.

The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man wanted for abduction and assault.

Around 4 a.m. Saturday, deputies received a call about a potential abduction in the Lee’s Hill area.

According to Capt. Jeff Pearce of the sheriff’s office, a man reportedly abducted his ex-girlfriend from her home in front of several witnesses and forcibly placed her in an unknown vehicle before driving off.

The 21-year-old woman was later released unharmed and confirmed that her ex-boyfriend had kidnapped her.

Pearce said the victim already had a protective order out against the man.

Warrants were obtained for George Franklin Jackson, 23, of Spotsylvania, for abduction and assault and battery on a family member.

Pearce said Jackson’s whereabouts are unknown, but he is believed to still be in the Spotsylvania area.
