Man charged with wounding in Culpeper

Culpeper police charged an Alexandria man with malicious wounding following a fight on Virginia Avenue Friday afternoon.

Ironically, one of two “victims” turned out to be a fugitive from Allegheny County, Pa., and was also arrested.

When Sgt. Al Cooper and Officer Matt Haymaker arrived at the scene about 1:15 p.m., the 37-year-old man who lived at the residence and 30-year-old Gregory Wallace were holding down Enrico Fionn Hernandez, 39, in the yard, according to Culpeper reports.

Details of the fight that had taken place were not released but Hernandez was charged with felony malicious wounding.

Wallace suffered minor cuts to his face and neck, according to town public information officer Wally Bunker. The third man also suffered minor injuries.

It was then determined that Wallace was wanted for failure to appear in a Pennsylvania court on felony and misdemeanor charges. He now awaits extradition.

Both Wallace and the third man were treated at Culpeper Regional Hospital.
