City police investigating bomb threat at library

UPDATE: 4:48 p.m. Fredericksburg police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said the library has been given the all clear and patrons are being allowed back inside and Caroline Street has been reopened.

Fredericksburg Police are investigating an unspecified bomb threat at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library on Caroline Street.
The threat was called in to the police department at 3:26 p.m. and library management was notified, said police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe.
There are police and fire units on the scene and the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office is there assisting with a canine unit.
The library was voluntarily evacuated.
Caroline Street is closed between Amelia Street and Fauquier Street, so avoid the area.
