LOW to replace board member

The Lake of the Woods Association expects to choose a new director early in January to replace board of directors President Bob Shope, who resigned abruptly last week.

At a special meeting Friday, after accepting Shope’s resignation, the remaining directors agreed on a process for choosing his replacement.

Each of the six directors will nominate one candidate for the post, after determining that their choice is willing to serve, and will distribute a résumé on their nominee. Then, after consideration, a vote will be taken at the board’s regular Jan. 5 meeting.

It will take a majority of the remaining members to elect the new director, who will serve until the association’s next election in September.
