Stafford teenager faces theft charges
A Stafford County teenager is facing charges for stealing cash and jewelry from a woman who had taken her in.
The victim, a 50-year-old Woodbridge woman, told Prince William County police that a family friend had been stealing money and jewelry valued in access of $9,900 from her during the previous month while living in the victim’s home.
The victim noticed items were missing from the home and confronted the the suspect with her suspicions before calling police.
Heather Elizabeth Thompson, 18, of Stonegate Place in Stafford is charged with two counts of obtaining money by false pretenses and grand larceny.
Thompson was arrested and released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.
