Teen charged after pedestrian struck in Stafford
A Stafford teenager was charged with reckless driving Friday after she lost control of her car and struck a pedestrian, state police said.
Sgt. Les Tyler said a 2006 Toyota Scion was heading south on Bells Hill Road (State Route 631) just north of Aster Lane when the driver ran off the right shoulder, overcorrected and went to the left shoulder, striking the pedestrian.
Cheryl Fisher, 51, of Stafford was taken to the Trauma Center at Mary Washington Hospital where she was listed in fair condition Friday evening.
Trooper W.D. Green investigated the incident and charged 18-year-old Carly Basinen with reckless driving. Tyler said driver inattention was the cause of the accident.
