Spotsy man charged in machete incident
A Spotsylvania man is facing charges in Prince William County after police say he chased a teenager with a machete.
Prince William police responded to the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge for a fight around 8:45 p.m. Friday.
Prince William Police Department spokesman Jonathan Perok said a 19-year-old male from Woodbridge reported that he and an unknown man were involved in a verbal dispute that escalated.
During the encounter, the victim said the man retrieved a machete from his vehicle and chased him, Perok said. No injuries were reported.
Following an investigation, Bahram Bahramipanah, 50, of Bellehaven Court in Fairview Commons off Courthouse Road, was charged with brandishing a machete, which is a misdemeanor.
He was released on a summons.
