Santa Train tickets go on sale Nov. 26
Tickets for the Santa Train will go on sale Nov. 26 online and at vendor sites, according to the Virginia Railway Express.
The sale starts at 9 a.m.
Typically, the tickets sell out fast. Last year, the online tickets were gone in 12 minutes. A total of 7,500 tickets were sold last year.
The Santa Train will run on Saturday, Dec. 8, out of four stations.
There is one change this year. Instead of picking up riders at the Fredericksburg station, the train will stop at the Leeland Road station in Stafford County. The change was made because of expected crowds in the city for the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Fredericksburg.
The other participating stations are at Burke Centre, Manassas and Woodbridge.
Kids who ride the train will get to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Each station also will serve as a Toys for Tots drop-off spot.
The event also promotes Operation Lifesaver, a train safety program.
