Robbery reported at Fredericksburg gas station
By KEITH EPPS
An armed robber got away with more than $300 after holding up a Fredericksburg gas station Sunday evening, police said.
The man entered the Gulf service station about 7:30 p.m. wearing a hoodie that concealed most of his face, city police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said. He was greeted by the owner, who was working alone.
The robber walked to the counter, pulled out a handgun and demanded money. The victim handed him money from the cash register, and the suspect fled on foot in the direction of Burlington Coat Factory. A police dog from the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office was brought to track a scent, but the robber was not found.
He was described as a white man about 6 feet tall wearing khaki cargo pants and a brown hoodie. Anyone with information is asked to call city police at 373-3122.
