Obama gets city of Fredericksburg

President Obama won Fredericksburg’s vote with 62.32 percent, or 7,114 votes.

Mitt Romney took 35.51 percent of the vote, or 4,054 votes.

Virgil Goode won 23 votes, Gary Johnson won 148 votes, Jill Stein won 57 votes and 18 votes were write-in.

In the U.S. Senate race, Tim Kaine won 64.42 percent of the vote, or 7,217 votes and George Allen won 35.25 percent of the vote, or 3,950 votes. There were 36 write-in votes.

In the 1st Congressional District race, incumbent Rob Wittman took 39.68 percent of the vote, or 4,331 votes and Adam Cook took 57.28 percent of the vote, or 6,251 votes. Gail Parker won 308 votes and there were 23 write-in votes.
