Logging truck overturned in Spotsylvania
A logging truck overturned at 8:15 this morning in Spotsylvania in the area of Hams Ford Road and Marye Road.
Capt. Mike Harvey, spokesman for the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office, said the driver drove too fast around a curve and the weight of the truck pulled the vehicle down.
There were no other vehicles involved.
The driver was taken to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Harvey said the sheriff’s office will most likely charge the driver tomorrow. It is unknown what those charges may be.
The roadway was closed for an extended period of time for investigation and since some of the logs spilled off of the truck. It was reopened this afternoon.
