Two in Orange shot in domestic dispute

A domestic dispute resulted in a double shooting in Rhoadesville Thursday, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded late Thursday evening to a home on Vermont Road in response to a report of a double shooting.

 John James Eckman, Jr., 39, and Virginia Marie Eckman, 45, had both been shot with firearms.

The investigation indicated that the shootings were the result of a domestic dispute between the two.

The injuries from the shootings appeared to be non-life threatening, and Emergency Protective Orders have been issued, the report said.
