Three arrested in heroin, prostitution sting
BY KEITH EPPS
A man suspected of selling heroin and women was arrested during a sting operation Wednesday night in Spotsylvania.
Two women, who are suspected prostitutes, were also arrested in the sting, which occurred at an unidentified motel in the county.
Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Capt. Mike Harvey said undercover detectives recently found numerous advertisements for prostitution on a website.
They contacted the “pimp” and arranged a deal for him to bring two prostitutes and some heroin to the motel. Harvey said he wasn’t sure about specifics of the deal.
When the man and the two women arrived at the motel Wednesday, they were taken into custody without incident.
Harvey said the women said they were prostitutes and said the man was their pimp.
Robert Crawford, 32, of Orange County was charged with distributing heroin, pandering and conspiracy to pander.
Casey Ross, 23, and Amanda Garza, 22, were both charged with prostitution. Their addresses are unclear, but Harvey said both women live in the area.
Garza was also charged with pandering and was served an outstanding warrant from Orange County.
It was the second time in less than a month that area police have made a prostitution-related arrest after getting information from a web site.
Tiesasha Michelle Spencer of Stafford was arrested Sept. 25 after being accused of bringing a juvenile girl to a Fredericksburg motel for sexual services.
According to court records, Spencer told police that she had posted pictures of herself and at least three other females on the website to solicit customers.
A preliminary hearing for Spencer is set for Oct. 31 in Fredericksburg Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
