Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan has moved his campaign rally today from the Celebrate Virginia Live concert site to the nearby Fredericksburg Expo and Conference Center.
The campaign announced the change Monday afternoon.
Fredericksburg police will have extra patrol officers on hand for traffic control and security as needed, but there are no planned road closures, said police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe.
Doors open at 4 p.m. and the event will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Country music singer Collin Raye will be Ryan’s special guest.
Free tickets for the event are available at the campaign’s offices in Fredericksburg and Stafford.
The Fredericksburg office is at 1311 Central Park Blvd., and the Stafford office is at 2773 Jefferson Davis Highway. Tickets may also be obtained on the Web at mittromney.com/VA.
All attendees will go through airport-like security and should bring as few personal items as possible, according to the website. No bags, sharp objects, umbrellas, liquids or signs will be allowed in the venue. Cameras are permitted.
