Spotsylvania crash claims life of teen
A Mineral teen was killed early this morning in a single-vehicle crash in Spotsylvania County.
Senior Trooper B.L. Finch responded to the crash on Blaydes Corner Road (Route 647) one mile south of Partlow Road (Route 738) at approximately 4:12 a.m.
According to Deborah Cox, spokesperson for the Virginia State Police, a preliminary investigation shows a 2003 Ford Focus was headed south on Blaydes Corner Road when it ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
The driver, Christopher P. McDaniel, 18, of Mineral, died at the scene.
Cox said he was the only occupant of the vehicle and he was wearing his seatbelt.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
