Robbery reported at Spotsylvania pizza shop

Spotsylvania County authorities are investigating a robbery that occurred outside a Domino’s Pizza shop early Saturday.

Police responded to the Domino’s at 6734 Jefferson Davis Highway at about 12:15 a.m. for a reported robbery.

The manager told deputies he was taking a deposit bag to his vehicle when someone yelled at him. He was then tackled and punched in the ribs, he said.

A male suspect then took the deposit bag, which contained an undisclosed amount of cash and checks. The suspect wore a black track suit, black mask and black gloves, police said.
