Former 7-Eleven employee facing more charges

A former 7-Eleven employee charged with stealing money from the store was arrested again Wednesday on 34 more charges.

Michael Robinson

Westmoreland County Sheriff C.O. Balderson said Michael T. Robinson, 50, is facing an additional 17 counts of petty larceny and 17 counts of embezzlement for taking an undisclosed amount of money from the store.

The Colonial Beach man was already charged with six similar charges for taking less than $60 on several occassions between July 22 and July 31, Balderson.

The investigation started when the sheriff’s office was contacted last week by a manager at the 7–Eleven in Colonial Beach to report suspicions he had about an employee who worked there.

Two deputies went to the store and were told by the manager that he thought an employee was stealing money, Balderson said.

After a short investigation, Robinson was arrested without incident at his home. All of the charges are misdemeanors.

Robinson is being held at the Northern Neck Regional jail on a secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Westmoreland County General District Court on Sept. 4.
