Ex-store employee charged with thefts
A former 7–Eleven employee is charged with stealing money from the store.
Westmoreland County Sheriff C.O. Balderson said his office was contacted Wednesday by a manager at the 7–Eleven in Colonial Beach to report suspicions he had about an employee who worked there.
Two deputies went to the store and were told by the manager that he thought an employee was stealing money, Balderson said.
After a short investigation, Michael T. Robinson, 50, was arrested Wednesday at his home in Colonial Beach on three counts of petty larceny and three counts of embezzlement. The charges are misdemeanors.
Less than $60 was taken on several occasions between July 22 and July 31, Balderson said.
Robinson was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Westmoreland County General District Court on Aug. 28.
