Two robbed at gunpoint in Fredericksburg
Two people were robbed at gunpoint late Monday as they were walking back to their apartment from the 7-Eleven in Bragg Hill, police said.
Fredericksburg Police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said a young man and woman, both 20, left the store about 10 p.m. and were on their way to the Fall Hill Apartments home when two men jumped out from behind a Dumpster.
Both men had handguns and both demanded cash from the victims. The male victim gave one suspect the cash from his pocket while the other suspect grabbed the woman’s purse.
Both suspects then pushed the man to the ground before running from the scene.
Both suspects were described as black men in their 30s, average height and with short dark hair. The one who pointed the gun at the male victim had a goatee and was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
Neither of the victims was injured. The victims spoke primarily Spanish, so city police used an interpreter to assist in getting information.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call city police at 373-3122.
