Police say women ransacked house
BY KEITH EPPS
Two women were arrested Saturday after they broke into the Stafford County home of someone they knew and caused significant damage, police said.
Sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy said Deputy Dustin Walker went to Doc Stone Road in North Stafford about 8:30 p.m. for a reported burglary and found several people arguing in the front yard.
The resident told Walker that the two women she was arguing with had “destroyed the inside of the house.”
Walker went into the home and found broken glass from a door, potting soil all over the floors and broken plant containers.
Someone had also ruined several items by pouring bleach all over them, and food had been thrown all around the home.
Kennedy said police aren’t sure what led to the vandalism, but one of the women told police that they were supposed to meet a resident there and were angry that the resident was late getting home.
Maretta Greenhow, 41, of Dale City and Ebony Castle, 24, of Edgewood, Md. were both charged with breaking and entering, conspiracy, larceny and vandalism.
Greenhow was also charged with being drunk in public, Kennedy said.
Police also served an existing warrant on Castle for failing to appear in court in Baltimore County.
Kennedy said the larceny charge stemmed from landscape lights found in the women’s car that matched others around the front of the residence.
Both woman were placed in the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.
