Stafford Sheriff’s Office reports phone problems

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reports that citizens calling into the non-emergency number 540-658-4400 will not be able to hear a response from the call taker when they call in. The Emergency Communication Center can hear the person calling in but the individual calling in cannot hear the response from the Emergency Communication dispatcher. We have been notified that this is only affecting the southern part of Stafford County Citizens will find that 9-1-1 is still working as always. The problem is being worked on.
