Utilities working to restore power

About 54,190 Dominion Virginia Power customers in the Fredericksburg area were without power after last night’s storm.

There were 42,300 without power at around 11:30 a.m. today, said spokesman Karl Neddenien.

“Crews are working around the clock,” he said. “Right now we’re reswtoring power to cstomers and doing a thorough assessment of damage so that we can provide accurate estimates of when the lights will be back on.”
