Spotsylvania to open cooling center

Spotsylvania will open a cooling center in conjunction with the Red Cross, at 4:30 pm today. The center will be at Thornburg Middle School, 6929 North Roxbury Mills Road. Residents should bring any amenities or prescriptions. No pets are allowed. At this point, it will not be an overnight shelter, said Kathy Smith.
