Man accidentally drowned in lake
A man whose body was found floating in Lake Anna on Wednesday is believed to have drowned accidentally, police said.
Two fisherman discovered the body about 12:45 p.m. near the Millpond Bridge on Kentucky Spring Road in Mineral, according to Maj. Donnie Lowe of the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office.
“Somehow he fell in, and it looks like an accidental drowning,” Lowe said. “It happened sometime over the weekend.”
The victim, a white man in his late 50s or early 60s, had not been officially identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office in Richmond as of Wednesday evening. Lowe said authorities do not think he is a Louisa County resident. The medical examiner will determine cause of death.
The case is under investigation, Lowe said.
