Jerry Cutright is the 2010-2011 National Boys Track and Field Coach of the Year
Jerry Cutright, head track and field coach for Louisa County High School, was announced by the National Federation of High School Associations as the 2010-2011 National Boys Track and Field Coach of the Year.
Cutright has led the high school to seven state titles during his time as head coach.
“I was really surprised when I found out the news. I have had great support while coaching here over the years,” he said. “I have been fortunate to work with many outstanding young people.”
Twenty-one high school coaches from across the country were selected by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Coaches Association as coaches of the year for their respective sports.
The criteria involved in determining the coach of the year includes the coach’s record, membership in and affiliation with coaching and other professional organizations, involvement with other school and community activities and programs, and coaching philosophy.
