Louisa to open hurricane shelter on Saturday

LOUISA, VA – Louisa County will open a shelter noon Saturday August 27, 2011, to assist people in need during the hurricane. The shelter will be at Moss Nuckols Elementary School, 2055 Courthouse Road.

Individuals should bring enough items to a shelter to be comfortable for at least 72 hours. These include change of clothing, prescriptions, over-the-counter medication such as Tylenol or Advil, eye glasses, toiletries, and food, snacks and beverages. They should also bring bedding items such as a sheet, blanket and pillow. Service animals only will be allowed in the shelters.
