Louisa, VA – At approximately 1:50pm Tuesday, a 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck Louisa County and has experienced numerous aftershocks, resulting in additional damage to structures.

At 10:00 am today, Louisa County declare a local state of emergency because local resources for damage assessment are being exhausted, in addition to extensive damage to public, commercial and residential structures.
