Louisa man survives throat slashing
BY PORTSIA SMITH
A Louisa County man is recovering after his throat was cut during an argument with his girlfriend’s adult son, police said.
Louisa deputies and state troopers responded to an emergency call at a home on West Green Springs Road in Gordonsville Thursday around 9:20 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found a 49-year-old man who had a severe laceration to his throat. He was flown to UVa. Medical Center where he was treated and later released, police said.
The wounding occurred when an argument between the victim and his girlfriend’s 30-year-old son escalated into a fight, according to a news release yesterday from the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office.
It was unclear what the argument was about.
Elijah Blue Burnley of Gordonsville is charged with aggravated malicious wounding.
He is being held without bond at Central Virginia Regional Jail and is scheduled to appear in Louisa Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on Friday.
