Louisa Raid leads to arrests

An early morning drug raid today led to charges against more than a dozen Louisa County residents.

According to Lt. Howard Porter of the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Louisa Narcotics Task Force conducted a mass arrest operation in an attempt to serve 40 drug-related indictments on 14 people.

Porter said the indictments were the result of numerous investigations conducted by that task force, which is made up of law enforcement officers from Louisa’s sheriff’s office and the Virginia State Police.

Nine of the 14 charged were arrested today and two others involved were arrested in Louisa last month*, Porter said.
