Gordonsville man facing child porn, solicitation charges

A Gordonsville man was indicted today on 10 counts of electronically soliciting minors for sex and five counts of soliciting child pornography in Louisa County Circuit Court.

According to Louisa Detective Patrick Siewart, an investigation began in May when a parent contacted the Louisa Sheriff’s Office because her 13-year-old son was contacted on Facebook by an alleged 19-year-old female student from the University of Virginia named “Kelly Redkin.”

Siewart said the Facebook relationship between the teens turned romantic and continued through cell phone text messaging, where the boy was asked to send nude photos of himself.

When the boy’s mother discovered a suspicious package sent from the girl to her son, she contacted the police, Siewart said. He said pictures of the girl, a greeting card, a type-written note and a teddy bear were inside the package.

Once reported, the investigation discovered that Kelly Redkin did not exist and was a persona created by 42-year-old James Anthony Dollins.

A search warrant was executed at his home on Paddock Wood Road in Gordonsville and multiple items were seized and documented linking the 19-year-old persona to Dollins.

Siewart said Dollins made contact with multiple teenage boys in Louisa, Henrico and Chesterfield counties and solicited them for sex and/or nude pictures as far back as October 2010.

Siewart said it is unknown who the girl is in the pictures and would welcome any information on her real identity.

Dollins is being held at the Central Virginia Regional Jail.

A bond appeal hearing is scheduled for July 18.
