No detour on Route 206 project this weekend
State Route 206, Dahlgren Road, will remain open in King George County this weekend near the intersection of Windsor Drive and Owens Drive.
Construction work planned for Friday through Monday was finished ahead of schedule. No detour is needed this weekend, according to the Virginia Department Of Transportation.
Workers have finished installing a 54-inch drainage pipe underneath Route 206, which required a complete road closure and detour from May 9-11.
VDOT is building new turn lanes along Route 206 at its intersection with Windsor Drive and Owens Drive. The project began in February and should be completed by early December.
